3 FIRES MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY

During the next few months, 3 Fires Martial Arts Academy will be hosting a series of workshops.  These workshops will provide a window into the diversity of the martial arts in various disciplines.

Introduction to Kali, Eskrima and Arnis

Although these names are used interchangeably, there are subtle differences in the arts portrayed by their unique names.  This workshop will introduce the attendees to some of these differences which include edged weapons versus a stick art, drills, and empty hand applications.

Cost: $10 for 3 Fires Members, $20 for non-members

Sparring Workshop with Hanshi Alex Atkinson

Sensei Atkinson has won numerous sparring and kickboxing tournaments and has held the North American Kickboxing title in his weight category.  He has gone on to coach a number of fighters and teams that compete world-wide in both the amateur and professional areas.  He has helped develop a system of fighting that has lead to finding his fighters in the winner's circle in every corner of the world.

Sensei will be bringing his experience and system to the academy during the summer of 2009 for a one day workshop.  The cost of this workshop is $30 for 3 Fires members and $50 for non-members.  The date is to be determined.  Everyone is expected to bring fighting gear.
